How far along: 6 weeks
How big is baby: Size of pomegranate seed .25-.5 inches
IVF meds: 1mL Progesterone daily, 1 progesterone tab PV twice a day, baby aspirin daily, .3mL Delestrogen Mondays and Fridays.
Symptoms: Still exhausted pretty much always. I came down with cold a day and a half ago and that has been cutting into my sleep. Yesterday I came home and took an hour nap, come 9pm I was struggling to keep my eyes open. I’m hungry most of the time, but have developed some food aversions. Maybe not so much aversions as nothing sounds good even if I’m starving. Yesterday I had some nausea the first half of the day, I think at least in part because I didn’t sleep well the night before. I remember that from my previous pregnancies, that if I don’t get enough sleep the night before I am more nauseous in the morning. I’m trying to go to bed earlier to help with this, but with the cold sleep isn’t great. I also remember that if I don’t drink enough water that also made me more nauseous. I bought a gallon size water bottle and am trying to drink one a day….it makes for many bathroom trips though!
Sleep: It was really good until the last couple nights with the sore throat and congestion.
Food cravings? Sour and fruity candy, cottage cheese w/ pineapple, chips and salsa
Anything making you queasy or sick? my stomach getting too empty. This means I have 2 breakfasts to start the day 😜 I usually start with a protein shake while I’m getting the kids’ lunches made and them ready for school. Then I have something with some more substance a little while after. I’m trying to make sure I always have snacks available, preferably some type of protein (nuts, beef jerky, cheese). I know I can’t stop the nausea completely, but I’m trying to get ahead of it so maybe it’s not so awful while we’re trying to enjoy summer break
Best moment of the week? Getting to go to my kids’ field day yesterday. They had a blast with all their classmates and liked having me there to watch them play.
Next appointment: ultrasound and blood test on 6/15 (which is my son’s 9th birthday so hopefully that’s good luck!)
