I was sorta hoping I would be writing a birth story instead of a weekly, but here we are LOL
Weekly Update
How far along: 39+3
How big is baby: about the size of an American short hair cat…around 7-8lbs and 19-21 inches
Symptoms: I’ve had some real contractions and Monday night I had cramping that kept waking me up throughout the night, morning/all day sickness is making a comeback which sucks
Movement: she’s still fairly active, but her movements are typically more painful. I can feel her pushing against my cervix and it hurts!
Sleep: I miss it and am really looking forward to my first postpartum sleep LOL This morning I woke up at 4:30am to pee and wasn’t able to go back to sleep before my alarm went off
Miss anything? Sleep, not being nauseous
Food cravings? fruits, salads, some sweets
Anything making you queasy or sick? being awake LOL
Progress: It’d be great if these painful contractions I’ve been having would turn in to actual labor contractions, but so far they are inconsistent. I don’t plan on having my OB check my this afternoon. If I don’t know then I can imagine I’m making progress. If she told me I was still at 2cm and 50% effaced I would be bummed out. The only thing keeping me sane is knowing that by this time next week she should be out and in her dads’ arms.
Best moment of the week? Wyatt had his first day of Kindergarten this morning and he was sooo excited. He had absolutely no problem ditching me as soon as we got his stuff put away. I love his confidence about being on his own in a new environment, I hope he’s always able to keep that. I can’t wait to pick him up and hear all about his day. We were so lucky that he was able to get a spot at our city’s only tuition free Montessori school. I was so hesitant to send him to public school kindergarten this year because he has a later birthday (June) and I have heard so much about how Kindergarten in public schools is more like first grade now. With his Montessori school I feel confident that he will be fine and that the method and environment will allow him to be himself while enjoying school and learning.
Weekly bump pic…the pineapple shirt no longer fits, but we’ve made it this far so I’m sticking with it no matter how silly it looks. Only one more bump pick in it if we make it to Sunday (due date)!
