She’s Here!

I’ll right out a full birth story this week, but she was born last Tuesday at 8:29pm. She was 8lbs and 19 1/2 inches. It was my fastest and easiest labor and delivery! Recovery has been okay. I caught the nasty cough my daughter had had the day after she was born. I lost a little more blood than normal right after delivery, but nothing too bad.

Here are a couple pictures to hold you over until I get the full story down

Well it looks like we’re going to make it to our induction date tomorrow (which I had thought we would, but was hoping to be wrong). I’m a bit relieved in a sense because it’s my OB running the induction and likely delivering (as long as she doesn’t take more than like 24 to arrive) her. I love my OB and the induction/delivery she oversaw with my daughter so I’m thankful in that respect that we made it this far.

Weekly Update

How far along: 40+1

How big is baby: about the size of a Red Panda..I’m guessing she’s probably in the low 7s for weight, or maybe I’m just hoping she will be LOL

Symptoms: nausea, insomnia, tiredness, sore hips, lots of pelvic pressure

Movement: she keeps flip flopping her bum from one side to the other, which isn’t always comfortable.

Sleep: hahahahahahahahahahaha

Miss anything? Sleep, not being nauseous

Food cravings? salads, Mexican food, fruit

Anything making you queasy or sick? waking up early does not agree with my stomach

Progress: At my appt last week I was 3cm and had her sweep my membranes just in case it started anything (obviously it didn’t). I continued on the normal pattern of BHs and a few painful contractions in the evenings with nothing really coming of them. Today I’ve had what feel like more labor like contractions, but they are spaced out and inconsistent so I’m not making anything of them. Either way she’ll be here soon!

Best moment of the week? Watching Wyatt’s first soccer game on Saturday. He’s in a kindergarten league and it’s hilarious. He had so much fun and is definitely looking forward to his next game.

I was sorta hoping I would be writing a birth story instead of a weekly, but here we are LOL

Weekly Update

How far along: 39+3

How big is baby: about the size of an American short hair cat…around 7-8lbs and 19-21 inches

Symptoms: I’ve had some real contractions and Monday night I had cramping that kept waking me up throughout the night, morning/all day sickness is making a comeback which sucks

Movement: she’s still fairly active, but her movements are typically more painful. I can feel her pushing against my cervix and it hurts!

Sleep: I miss it and am really looking forward to my first postpartum sleep LOL This morning I woke up at 4:30am to pee and wasn’t able to go back to sleep before my alarm went off

Miss anything? Sleep, not being nauseous

Food cravings? fruits, salads, some sweets

Anything making you queasy or sick? being awake LOL

Progress: It’d be great if these painful contractions I’ve been having would turn in to actual labor contractions, but so far they are inconsistent. I don’t plan on having my OB check my this afternoon. If I don’t know then I can imagine I’m making progress. If she told me I was still at 2cm and 50% effaced I would be bummed out. The only thing keeping me sane is knowing that by this time next week she should be out and in her dads’ arms.

Best moment of the week? Wyatt had his first day of Kindergarten this morning and he was sooo excited. He had absolutely no problem ditching me as soon as we got his stuff put away. I love his confidence about being on his own in a new environment, I hope he’s always able to keep that. I can’t wait to pick him up and hear all about his day. We were so lucky that he was able to get a spot at our city’s only tuition free Montessori school. I was so hesitant to send him to public school kindergarten this year because he has a later birthday (June) and I have heard so much about how Kindergarten in public schools is more like first grade now. With his Montessori school I feel confident that he will be fine and that the method and environment will allow him to be himself while enjoying school and learning.

Weekly bump pic…the pineapple shirt no longer fits, but we’ve made it this far so I’m sticking with it no matter how silly it looks. Only one more bump pick in it if we make it to Sunday (due date)!
