Busy Weekend and 25 Weeks

We spent Memorial Day weekend at the coast with my in laws and we had soooo much fun! It’s good for the soul to watch your kids hanging out and playing with their cousins. Not to mention the weather was amazing for the Oregon Coast in May. It was also the first time we got to use our new travel trailer and we loved it! It was so nice for this pregnant lady not to have to walk to the bathrooms twice in the middle of the night 😀

Weekly Update:

How far along: 25+3

How big is baby: about the size of a Prairie Dog, around 14 inches long and almost 2 pounds

Symptoms: yesterday my body was so exhausted, but I had so much stuff to do. I ended up with some pretty good shooting pain in my back and Braxton Hicks contractions. Other than that I’ve felt pretty good. I’m still tired by the afternoon, but it’s not usually debilitating

Movement: Oh man in the last couple days she has been soooo active! Yesterday it seemed like she was moving most of the day and they were big strong movements. Of course anytime I thought about trying to catch that movement on video to send her dads she would stop….she’s either very contrary or camera shy LOL I felt her first startle response yesterday. Wyatt was playing outside and banged his toy hammer down on something, it was loud enough to make her jump.

Sleep: I’ve actually been sleeping fairly well since Saturday…hopefully I didn’t just jinx myself

Miss anything? being able to sleep through the night without having to get up and use the bathroom

Food cravings? still craving Mexican food which I didn’t crave with my kids. Taco salad, tacos, nachos, they all sound delicious. Also craving hamburgers and sweets which is pretty par for the course at this point in pregnancy for me.

Anything making you queasy or sick? Not drinking enough water then having sugar or carbs can make me not feel so great. This happened yesterday when I was running around, I forgot to keep up with my water intake and ended up not feeling good the second half of the day.

Best moment of the week? Spending the long weekend at the beach with family and her movements getting bigger and stronger

Next appointment: Sometime in June, I don’t remember the date exactly. I’ll have my GD test in about 3 weeks as well.

The lucky pineapple shirt is getting tight this week. This is the shirt that I wore to my medical screening, all monitoring appointments, during the transfer, all beta appointments, and ultrasounds except the last one because it didn’t fit well anymore. This baby has been around, but it’s days as the bump picture shirt may be limited LOL

Viability Day!

Yesterday at 24 weeks we reached Viability Day. For those not familiar 24 weeks marks the point when the baby is considered viable. Babies born at this time have a reasonable chance of survival (with significant medical interventions). The odds for survival go up every week and I do love seeing that percentage get higher and higher.

Weekly Update:

How far along: 24+1

How big is baby: about the size of an Arctic Puffin, a little over foot long and by the end of the week weighs about 1.5lbs

Symptoms: still tired (it hasn’t helped that we’ve had sick kiddos in our house who aren’t sleeping well), some sporadic back aches, but nothing terrible. Braxton Hicks contractions, mostly when I have a full bladder…which can be kind of frequently LOL

Movement: She is a strong little girl when she wants to be. She rolls around a lot, more than I remember my own kids doing it. She either doesn’t like to be pushed on or she’s trying to get comfortable because if my pants are pushing on my lower belly or I lean against a counter she’s instantly kicking and rolling around until I move.

Sleep: Not great over the weekend (sick kids), but not terrible last night.

Miss anything? not having to get up 3+ times to pee

Food cravings? taco salad again…we had it at a birthday party on Saturday (I had two plates of it!). Then I made it last night because it sounded so good and I brought it for lunch today. Still craving sweets too, but not as much as before.

Anything making you queasy or sick? The kids trying to sit on my belly will do it. If I’m sitting on the couch they will try to crawl all over me not realizing that they can’t get comfy because I’ve got a big ol’ bump now. This poor baby gets knees and elbows thrown at her daily, luckily she’s nice an insulated 😉

Best moment of the week? Spending the weekend with my husband’s family

Next appointment: Sometime in June, I don’t remember the date exactly. I’ll have my GD test in about 3 weeks as well.

I feel like she shifted position to be a bit higher than last week. Last week I felt like my bump was actually a little smaller and her movements felt a lot lower. This week she seems more out in front again and the bump feels large and in charge.

23+1

Weekly Update:

How far along: 23+1

How big is baby: about the size of a chinchilla or a bunch of grapes, about a foot long and weighing a little over a pound

Symptoms: tired, back aches, Braxton Hicks contractions

Movement: she’s moving more and more these days. I’ve been able to see her movements on the outside which is pretty amazing. I haven’t been able to catch it on video for her dads yet, but maybe in the next few weeks.

Sleep: hit and miss…occasionally I’ll wake up to go pee and not be able to back to sleep for an hour or two (like last night)

Miss anything? sleeping through the night

Food cravings? nothing really this week

Anything making you queasy or sick? I figured out this last week that I apparently wasn’t drinking enough water and that was in part what was causing my nauseousness when I would eat something sweet. I’ve upped my water intake and have felt so much better…of course that means I’m up more at night to pee

Best moment of the week? Getting an email that my son got into the tuition free Montessori school in town for Kindergarten this fall!

Next appointment: OB appt on Wednesday

My pregnancy apps all said that baby girl is going to start packing on the fat this week and should double her weight in the next 4 weeks. So expect some rapid grow in this bump in the weeks to come! Only 5 more weeks until 3rd trimester…where’s the time going??

22+2

Weekly Update:

How far along: 22+2

How big is baby: about the size of a Guinea pig or around 12 inches

Symptoms: tired, back aches, Braxton Hicks contractions

Movement: getting stronger and stronger! I’ve been able to feel her movements on the outside of my belly a couple times.

Sleep: hit and miss

Miss anything? sleeping through the night

Food cravings? Salads, pizza, sweets

Anything making you queasy or sick? too much sugar…pretty sure we’ll be riding the gestational diabetes train again. Hopefully it’s as easy to deal with as it was last time

Best moment of the week? Picking up and bringing home our new travel trailer! I can’t wait to start using it!

Next appointment: OB appt on May 16th
