This weekend the hubs and I drove down to Reno to attend a wedding in Virginia City. We had a great time and enjoyed a little time without the kiddos.

Weekly Update:

How far along: 21+1

How big is baby: about the size of a least weasel or a baby bok choy…~10.5 inches long

Symptoms: Round ligament pain although it’s seemed a little better this last week.

Movement: She has about 3-4 good “sets” of activity a day. If the waistband of my pants are squishing her or if I’m sitting in position that pushes on her she definitely lets me know about it with lots of wiggling and kicking. I picture her in there going “Hey lady! You’re squishing me in here!”

Sleep: it’s been, ok…Obviously I don’t sleep through the night and won’t until she’s born, but my middle of the night round ligament pain subsided a bit this last week so that’s been helpful

Miss anything? sleeping through the night

Food cravings? taco salad, waffles, and salad…not together though LOL and sweets which is typical for me 🙂

Anything making you queasy or sick? too much sugar…pretty sure we’ll be riding the gestational diabetes train again. Hopefully it’s as easy to deal with as it was last time

Best moment of the week? spending the weekend in Reno with the hubs.

Next appointment: OB appt on May 16th

We are officially halfway to our due date! We had our anatomy scan on Wednesday and baby girl rocked it! Everything looked perfect. She wasn’t overly cooperative when the tech was trying to get pictures of her heart, but they got they what they needed. It was so fun to have the dads there to see the ultrasound in person. I think it made it feel that much more real for them. I have a lot of people asking if the parents are excited and I usually say that I’m sure they are, but it has to be somewhat surreal to have your baby growing so far away.

My family also enjoyed spending time with the dads, especially the kids who absolutely adore them. They’re so accommodating with my kids and are always willing to play, read them books, or hear all about dinosaurs or their toys. It’s crazy to think that the next time we see them will be when baby is ready to make her debut!

I forgot to grab a quick picture of surro babe’s profile ultrasound picture, but it was funny to see that she looks nothing like my own kids. Obviously she’s not biologically related to me, but I guess I thought most babies look the same on ultrasounds…nope! This baby has a completely different profile and the features we could see on the 3D images are nothing like my own children. It was interesting to see that babies really can look totally different even this early.

Here’s the weekly update!

Weekly Update:

How far along: 20+1

How big is baby: about the size of an axolotl which is an amphibian native to Mexico or a banana…~10 inches long (last week was 6 inches from crown to rump, now baby is big enough to measure from head to toe hence the big jump) She measured about 11 oz at the ultrasound last Wednesday.

Symptoms: Round ligament pain and some lower back aches. Definitely an increased appetite, come evening time I’m devouring everything in sight.

Movement: They are certainly getting stronger and I feel her much more often now. She still seems fairly quiet when I move around.

Sleep: hit and miss…I’m tired pretty much all the time, there hasn’t been any sort of second trimester energy surge as of yet

Miss anything? not getting out of breath doing simple things like drying off after a shower

Food cravings? sweets

Anything making you queasy or sick? not really anything lately

Best moment of the week? having the anatomy scan with IFs there to see it in person

Next appointment: OB appt on May 16th

I mentioned to my OB that we’re planning on going camping for two weeks at the end of July/beginning of Aug and she was totally fine with working around it as long as everything looks good yay!

I feel like I look HUGE in the picture! I don’t know what position she was in because my bump was not that big this morning thank goodness

I did it again… completely forgot to add the bump pic and publish. #pregnancybrain

Only one more week until this little one is half baked!

Weekly Update:

How far along: 19+1

How big is baby: about the size of a four toed hedgehog or a zucchini…~6 inches long

Symptoms: Round ligament pain, actually just a lot more aches and pains in general. My back has been sore because we had a a kind of busy weekend. Epson salt baths help as well as using a belly support when I know we’ll be doing a lot of walking

Movement: She’s typically pretty quiet when I’m moving around and a lot more active when I’m sitting or laying down

Sleep: each night is different. Friday night I slept super hard, Saturday was terrible, and last night was in between

Miss anything? not really anything at the moment

Food cravings? nothing that I can think of…toaster waffles have been a favorite though LOL

Anything making you queasy or sick? too much sugar/carbs, but I can get past it pretty quick if I walk on the treadmill for a bit

Best moment of the week? having a nice warm day outside on Saturday

Next appointment: OB appt tomorrow morning (at least we hope because the doc is on call and could be called away) Then anatomy scan on Wednesday!

I just realized I never posted this update because I needed to add the picture from my phone and I completely spaced it 🤔🤷

So here’s the update from Monday 😁

Weekly Update:

How far along: 18+1

How big is baby: about the size of a sugar glider or a sweet potato..~5.5 inches long

Symptoms: Round ligament pain, out of breath/tired more quickly, increased appetite

Movement: I feel her off and on most of the day. She must like when I walk on the treadmill at night because she always seems to settle down and I’d bet she falls asleep

Sleep: it’s not terrible. I think it’s a combination of not tossing and turning as much and getting used to waking up more often so that I don’t stay awake for an extended amount of time each time I wake up

Miss anything? not constantly having to pee LOL

Food cravings? hamburgers last week, but nothing specific in the last few days

Anything making you queasy or sick? too much sugar, but I can get past it pretty quick if I walk on the treadmill for a bit

Best moment of the week? getting a nap in on Friday and yesterday

Next appointment: OB appt on 4/17 and anatomy scan on 4/18, both of which the dads get to be present for!!

Give Me All The Hamburgers!

Since the craving for hamburgers has been consistent through all my pregnancies I’m going to go ahead and say it’s not a baby craving, it’s my pregnant body’s craving. I must want that red meat to keep my iron levels up. It seems to work too because I haven’t had issues with anemia yet 🙂

I’ve also been back on the popcorn train. I ate a lot of it in the super early weeks, but stopped when the nausea started and it didn’t sound good until recently….now I’m happy to eat a big ol’ bowl almost every night!

On a not pregnancy related note…I’m soooo ready for spring to get here. It’s been cold and icky with random snowflakes around and I’m over it. I want my warm breeze and sunshine so we can start working outside and get the garden prepped and started. The kids have been playing outside regardless of the cold, but I know they’re ready to be able to get the hose out and run around naked LOL

There’s my quick update…I thought I’d post something other than a weekly update for a change 😀 Happy hump day all!

My appointment last week went great. We listened to the heartbeat which was about 150-155. My OB appointments are typically super quick and easy. I rarely have any questions or concerns and my doctor is always like “well, you look great, baby sounds good!” I am really thankful for easy appointments and hope they continue that way for the rest of the pregnancy.

Weekly Update:

How far along: 17+1

How big is baby: about the size of a chipmunk or a turnip..5- 5/12 inches long

Symptoms: Still a little lingering morning sickness that is actually in the mornings. Boobs still hurt. I can tell that she’s growing because I’m having more round ligament pain

Movement: She has been so active this last week! I feel her several times a day. She may be a very active little girl for her dads!

Sleep: Not too bad, I never feel really rested though

Miss anything? not being nauseous

Food cravings? nothing much this last week. I’m definitely eating more these days though and a lot more things sound good

Anything making you queasy or sick? still mostly eating too much

Best moment of the week? Being able to spend most of Saturday outside in the sunshine

Next appointment: OB appt on 4/17 and anatomy scan on 4/18, both of which the dads get to be present for!!

First blog bump pic!
